Maluckyday has been somewhat of a surprise nomination for Saturday’s Group I Futurity Stakes (1400m) and a decision on where our most promising stayer kicks off his autumn campaign is still to be finalised.
The son of Zabeel hasn't started since exploding through his grades last preperation, culminating in a fighting second in the Melbourne Cup which followed an emphatic victory in the Lexus Stakes.
“We are still undecided, John Hawkes will make the final decision,” co-trainer Michael Hawkes said.
“He is still in Sydney. We’ll have a look at the race and see who is nominated and go from there.”
