Swear Makes The Perfect Start

The Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained colt justified the faith of punters by defeating the Star Turn colt Pegasi by one and a quarter lengths with the Medaglia d'Oro (USA) colt Micro a short-half-head back in third.

Spendthrift Farm's first season stallion Swear made the perfect start to his stallion career when his first starter Faulds powered home from the rear of the field to open his account over 1100m at Geelong on Saturday.

The Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained colt justified the faith of punters by defeating the Star Turn colt Pegasi by one and a quarter lengths with the Medaglia d'Oro (USA) colt Micro a short-half-head back in third.

Purchased by Hawkes Racing for $80,000 out of the Widden Stud draft at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Faulds is a half-brother to the stakes-placed Mark The Horse (Warriors Reward) out of the well-performed imported mare Patricia's Gem.

A Group 1-placed daughter of Mineshaft, Patricia Gem has a yearling filly by Overshare and a Swear colt foal.
