Two of the leading Stradbroke Handicap chances in pre-post betting have trialled strongly at Rosehill on Tuesday.
The Hawkes Racing-trained Love Conquers All and the Peter Snowden-trained Beaded were both given solid hit-outs ahead of a trip to Brisbane for a start in the Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm on June 11.
At Luxbet, Love Conquers All is an $11 chance in the Stradbroke while Beaded is at $13.
Love Conquers All, with Jon Grisedale in the saddle, won a 900 metre trial by a length in the time of 54.01 seconds and co-trainer Michael Hawkes said the gelding was right on target for his winter campaign.
"He jumped out, was relaxed, very casual and hit the line good,” Hawkes said.
"It was everything we wanted and he'll head up to Queensland later in the week and then run in the [Doomben] 10000 before the Stradbroke.”
Chris Munce is engaged for Love Conquers All's Queensland campaign.
Beaded was ridden by Corey Brown in a 1030 metre trial and she finished third, beaten a nose by a short head, in the time of 1.03.25.
Brown, who had never been aboard Beaded before Tuesday morning said, "you'd love a stable full of horses like her”.
"She trialled really well,” Brown said. "She jumped out, settled about three pairs back, cruised along until I gave her a little bit of a squeeze at about the 100 [metres] and she went to the line with plenty in hand.
"You'd love a stable full of horses like her, she tries her guts out.”
Like Love Conquers All, Beaded is scheduled to line up in the Group I Doomben 10000 on May 28 before a start in the Stradbroke Handicap.
The daughter of Lonhro is then likely to head towards the Group I Tattersall's Tiara [Winter Stakes] over 1400 metres for the fillies and mares at Eagle Farm on June 25.
