Exciting off-season prospect Moshe has been turned out for a short break and will return in the New Year for an autumn assault.
Moshe, the full brother to Australian sprint sensation Black Caviar, has won both of his two starts, the most recent last Friday night at Moonee Valley.
Moshe’s co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said the three-year-old colt would spend the next few weeks relaxing on the Mornington Peninsula.
“We’ve decided to tip Moshe out and give him a three week break before we look for bigger fish to fry in the autumn,” Hawkes said.
“He pulled up really well after his second run, much better than he did after his first start, but we’ve taken our time with him since he first walked into the stable so we’re not about to jam him now.”
Hawkes said it was likely Moshe would resume in Melbourne despite being one of the few horses yet to see the operation’s Sydney stables at Rosehill.
“Nothing has been finalised but I’d say he’ll kick off in Melbourne,” he said.
“We’d probably look to give him a couple in ratings races before we look at something with black type.
“Anyone who watched him at Moonee Valley the other night would know he’s still learning and we also need to get his rating up a bit more before we ask the serious questions of him.”
